February 2022 • Florida Pool Prosm 7 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR both Alyssa Holcomb and Kelly Sauro to our team! Alyssa is our new Public Relations and Digital Media Specialist. She has a robust nonprofit background, a Master’s degree from Northwestern University in Leadership for Creative Enterprises, and many years of experience in the marketing and communications space. Alyssa has already begun to shine with us, bringing enthusiasm and bold new ideas to the table. Kelly is our new Membership Services Specialist. She has lived and breathed our industry, as both she and her husband were previously owners of a pool and spa service company based in Atlanta, GA for a decade, and her husband now works for our industry partner Team Horner! Kelly has a robust customer service and office administration background and is going to be a huge asset to our membership services efforts. Beyond growing our team, we have set a goal of achieving 200 new members in 2022! We will need your help to accomplish this goal. Please help us spread the word of the value of our association and the impact we have on your professional lives and that of your businesses’ health and success in our industry. We also want to blow out our state approved apprenticeship program and establish our college certificate program on the education front. Having a successful 50th Anniversary Everything Under the Sunsm Expo is a must, of course! For government affairs we want to expand the footprint of PIPAC (our Pool Industry PAC), having an even greater impact. Additionally, we are working with the State House and Senate to pass SB222/HB267 which passed and, if approved by the Governor, grants a permanent statutory licensing exemption for swimming pool subcontractors working under the direct supervision of a Certified or Registered Swimming Pool and Spa Contractor. We are also working on establishing a state license plate that benefits our Foundation and drowning prevention education efforts. All of the above is really just the tip of the iceberg! There is even more on our agenda for 2022 and it is too much to share here. We hope you will dive in, learn more and get engaged on these items through your local chapter and also at the state level by attending our events and coming to a state board meeting. Stay warm and safe in the meantime.
