The Florida West Coast Chapter would like to congratulate its 2018 FSPA Merit Scholarship recipients: Michael Ball sponsored by The Pool Works of Florida, Bryant Howard sponsored by Rick’s Pool Service, and Briana Wildridge sponsored by The Pool Works of Florida.  This year the scholarships awarded by the Florida Swimming Pool Association / Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation were matched by the Bill Kent Family Foundation.  Best wishes to Michael, Bryant, and Briana as they are back at school continuing their education!

On Thursday, August 16, Brian Gangelhoff, A Pool’s Best Friend, Inc., and Rick Howard, Rick’s Pool Service, Inc., met with Ed Hooper, Candidate for Florida Senate, to present him with a campaign contribution from the Chapter.

Thank you to Amerisure for presenting the program “7 Essentials of Fleet Safety Training” at the Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, August 21. Thank you also to Insurance by Ken Brown and to all who attended this very important and informative meeting.

The Chapter Board of Directors met on Tuesday, September 4 at noon.  Our next Chapter Board meeting will be held at noon on Tuesday, October 2 at Queen’s Pizza, 1834 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater.  Our Board of Directors meetings are usually scheduled for the first Tuesday of the month.  We are always interested in hearing your ideas for Chapter meetings and programs.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for the Florida West Coast Chapter’s Annual Pool Industry Table Top Event on Tuesday, October 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
at Ruth Eckerd Hall – Great Room, 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater.  We will have an exciting mixture of pool industry displays, food, drinks and prizes.  This year’s theme is Crazy Hats, so plan to wear your craziest hat to the event. Call or e-mail the Chapter office today for registration information.
