Do you like to fish? Plan to join the Chapter for an All-Day Chartered Deep Sea Fishing Trip on Saturday, November 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. onboard the Double Eagle at Clearwater Municipal Marina, 25 Causeway Blvd., Clearwater. We have the entire boat! The cost is $60 for adults and $40 for children (12 and under), bait and gear included. No fishing license required. Space is limited so reserve your spot today! Food and drinks available for purchase from galley, parking is $12 per vehicle.
The 40th Annual FSPA High School Invitational Swimming & Diving Meet was held on Saturday, September 23. Thank you to Don Ball, The Pool Works of Florida, and his daughter Amanda for volunteering at the meet on behalf of the Chapter.
The Chapter Board met on Tuesday, October 3 at Queen’s Pizza in Clearwater. Thank you to John Olden and Gorman Company St. Pete for sponsoring the lunch. The next Board of Directors meeting will be held at noon on Tuesday, November 7
at Queen’s Pizza, 1834 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater. Our Board of Directors meetings are usually scheduled for the first Tuesday of the month. We are always interested in hearing your ideas for Chapter meetings and programs.

The FSPA Board of Directors met on October 5 – 6 at the Lido Beach Resort in Sarasota. These meetings were rescheduled from September due to Irma. Thank you to Don Ball, The Pool Works of Florida; Alex Fletcher, Aquaworx; Jim Guszkiewicz, SCP Distributors; and Rick Howard, Rick’s Pool Service, for attending these meetings. Congratulations to Don Ball for being elected to the FSPA Executive Committee as an At-Large Director for 2018.
Representatives from the Chapter attended the YMCA of the Suncoast – Greater Palm Harbor Branch’s Safety Around the Water swim lessons on Monday, October 16. They handed out safety materials to the participants and their parents as part of the matching grant that was donated by the Chapter, the Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation and the National Swimming Pool Foundation. The week of lessons was held October 16-20 with two sessions of swim lessons held daily. This was rescheduled from September due to Irma.
The Florida West Coast Chapter’s Annual Pool Industry Table Top Event was held on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall – Great Room in Clearwater. Details will follow next month.
