On behalf of all FSPA Palm Beach members I’d like to thank the many exhibitors and attendees for your support at the Palm Beach Pool Show August 23.  The 2017 event carried an island theme featuring “The Gratitude Steel Band” playing an array of pleasing songs on their steel drums and other instruments.  Melinda  Ramirez, Crystal Blue Pools, won the 50/50 drawing.  StoneHardscapes won the exhibitor drawing for a one night stay at the Palm Beach Marriott.  A special thank you to Taylor Industries for donating a Taylor Test Kit to the annual auction.  Taylor Industries was not able to exhibit this year but wanted to support the Chapter.  Linda Grove, Horizon Pool & Patio, won the Taylor Test Kit.  For the third consecutive year Horizon Pool & Patio won the $500 gift card for bringing the most attendees to the show.  It was a close race this year with two other businesses a close second.  In the end 13 employees from Horizon Pool and Patio checked in.  Congratulations to all the winners.

The Palm Beach Pool Show could not have been as successful as it was if not for the many volunteers.  Our two chairmen Jim Stevens, Crystal Blue Pools, and Robbie Frederick, Red Rhino Leak Detection, did an awesome job keeping the show planning and the event running smooth.  Chad Gardner, Horizon Pool & Patio, and three Red Rhino volunteers ran the auction like professionals.  Hats off to these members and all the businesses that donated items to the auction.

The 2017 exhibitors included American Leak Detection, AquaBond LLC, AquaCal, Built Right Pool Heaters, Byrd Moreton & Associates, Commercial Energy Specialists, Devin Cahn Associates, EasyCare Products, Florida Stucco, Florida Water Products, Gorman Company, Haviland Pool & Spa Products, Hayward Pool Products, Insurance By Ken Brown, Jack’s Magic, Jet Line Products, Lasco Fittings, Leak Doctor, Lo-Chlor, PB Drowning Prevention Coalition, Pentair Water Pool & Spa, Premix Marbletite, Professional Lines, Proline Distributors, Raypak, Red Rhino Leak Detection, Riptide Vac, SCP Distributors, Southern Grout & Mortars, StoneHardscapes, SunDek, Waterway Plastics, and Zodiac Pool Products.

The Chapter meeting on September 12 was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.  A special thank you to Charlie Chansen, Hayward Pool Products, for agreeing to reschedule the CE credit meeting on gas heaters.  The date will be announced as soon as it is available.

Unless otherwise notified, meetings are held at Contractors Business Park, 2701 Vista Pkwy., West Palm Beach.  Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. with a light dinner and refreshments.  Programs start promptly at 7:00 p.m.  Members may attend for a nominal fee of $10 to cover food costs.  Non-member pricing is $20 per person.
