The Chapter Board met Tuesday, September 5 at Queen’s Pizza in Clearwater.  Thank you to Jim Guszkiewicz and SCP Distributors for sponsoring the lunch.  The next Board of Directors meeting will be held at noon on Tuesday, October 3 at Queen’s Pizza, 1834 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater.  Our Board of Directors meetings are usually scheduled for the first Tuesday of the month.   We are always interested in hearing your ideas for Chapter meetings and programs.

The Florida West Coast Chapter along with a matching grant from the Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation (SPESF) and additional funding from the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF), donated a total of $2,250 to the YMCA of the Suncoast, Greater Palm Harbor Branch to provide swimming lessons for children whose families cannot afford them.  Randy McElwain Nilsson, Executive Director, and Heather Hiserman, Aquatics Director, from the YMCA attended the Chapter Board Meeting to receive this donation and explain their program to those in attendance.  They are using the funds for their Safety Around the Water week in September, with three sessions of swim lessons held daily, Monday through Friday.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for the Florida West Coast Chapter’s Annual Pool Industry Table Top Event on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall – Great Room, 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater.  We will have an exciting mixture of pool industry displays, food, drinks and prizes.  This year our theme is Fishing.  Plan to join us and catch the latest products our industry has to offer.  Call or e-mail the Chapter office today for registration information.
